Brian Abney, Labor and Benefits Representative

Brian recently retired from public service after almost 30 years. He started as a beach lifeguard with the City of Santa Barbara and has spent the last 20 years in the fire service with the Orange County Fire Authority. He spent 5 years as a Labor Union Director with the Orange County Professional Firefighters Local 3631 and was given the distinction of Director Emeritus upon retirement. He specialized in all aspects of wellness for his 1200+ member group. His key roles were Worker’s Compensation, Healthcare, Behavioral/Mental Health, and Employee Representation.

Brian graduated from California State University Northridge with a B.S in Exercise Science/Kinesiology and has also attained an A.S. in Athletic Training, an A.S in Emergency Medicine and an A.S in Fire Science. In the fire service Brian held the positions of Firefighter, Firefighter/Paramedic, Helicopter Paramedic Rescuer, Medical Specialist CATF-5, Fire Captain, and Fire Captain/Paramedic.

Brian’s greatest honor was to serve the members of Local 3631 who faithfully provided service to the citizens of Orange County. He hopes to expand the reach of this service through his work with the Ferrone Law Group.
